Overview of Work

Mechanical Design engineer on the Logitech MX team working on a range of new product innovations and carrying out research

Logi Lift

Ergonomic right and left handed vertical mouse.

From early stage rapid prototyping design through to mass production, I worked closely with a global team and manufacturers in the Far East to ensure design requirements were implemented correctly.

Designed the 3 main clicking buttons in accordance with UX requirements to develop a silent but satisfactory click. Conducted tolerance analysis along with FEA using Ansys and UX testing to ensure the desired clicking experience would be delivered to the customer.

Research

Lead a team of technicians carrying out extensive tests into how the life of Logitech's flagship mouse can be extended.

Python & Minitab were used to perform data analytics on results, identifying weakness in product design.

Tableau helped to identify user trends and behaviours and weaknesses in the product from a user standpoint. This data was then used to correlate weaknesses found during lab tests with real life user issues.

New Product Innovation & Development

Developing an ecosystem of hardware and software to address the needs of advanced streamers & creators

Working with PMs, marketing and stakeholders across the globe to uncover user insights and develop products to user specifications by designing and building iterative prototypes of varying fidelity to verify assumptions through user testing.

Ensuring high quality robust design of complex mechanical systems through dFMEA and FEA. Optimising mechanical design and PCB layout to reduce CO2 impact of new products.

Performing tolerance analysis to verify performance of mechanisms and cosmetic specification in the presence of high volume dimensional variation.
